Good ways to reconnect

Hi all, just wondering what your advice would be to reconnect with a spouse? Just quick simple “hygiene” things to bring and keep you closer together.
So easy to get caught up in work, with the young kids or housework… aby ideas? Fyi I know about love languages it’s not really that!

Things that come to mind are;

  • Have Sex
  • go out for a meal/schedule a takeaway
  • think of one interesting topic to chat about (I.e not the kids!)
  • Netflix and chill with a film/box set?

Keep in mind about the young kids so it’s hard to actually go out and do something without it being a military operation in childcare arrangements!

A discussion with your husband should be the first thing.

About what? We talk all the time it’s about quality time and reconnecting, I’m not sur he’ll have better ideas than me, was just wondering what other people found good?

Play a board game or something? Sounds dull but both me and my partner very much enjoy it.

We like monopoly and scrabble.

We end up having a right laugh.

I've seen apps where you both join and it sends you questions to answer about each other throughout the day...sort of like a couples quiz.
Supposed to result in reconnecting and sizzling chemistry but I haven't tried it myself yet!

Massage ?

Led921900 · 03/01/2024 06:53

Oh yes we did 20 questions as a family on a car journey and husband really had fun, we also like playing timeline but kids are too young. And he taught me backgammon so might get that out again. Of an evening it’s strange we just turn on the Tv really, over Christmas I put a fire YouTube video on but that was only so we could concentrate on our phones 😂😂.

I like the app question idea but DH might find it a bit odd, and I can hardly get a text out of him for a direct question 😂.

massage sounds lovely!

thanks all
