Ready to date again - how to meet men

After years of being single, I am hoping to re-enter the world of dating.

Where else can I meet men besides on dating apps? Can't just nip to the pub as most of my mates stay at home with their partners and or don't go out much at all nd I don't want to go alone.

Thinking of joining classes/groups, but they don't seem to be any locally that include men around my age.

As you get older (particularly over 35-40), it becomes very difficult to meet single people in real life so they are primarily on OLD. The following have been suggested so worth trying (though I have been trying for years and haven’t met anyone yet) - park runs, sports clubs, DYI stores, local hiking groups, concerts and festivals, local pub quizzes, social networking through your work/industry bodies, meet up groups centered around a particular hobby. Classes and volunteering attract a female audience only.

Watching with interest as I'm about to do the same.

Join a climbing or cycling club. Parkrun? Gym? Karate class? If not sporty, choose a favourite coffee shop or local pub, and visit same slot each week. I guess keep trying different things.

The last nice man I met was at a plant nursery. 🙂

@MintJulia I'm starting to look at ways to meet men. Frequenting coffee shops and taking myself out for daytime pub lunch I do already. Nightlife activities are a bit trickier. I'm also going to start going to the gym once a week... parkrun is so not my thing.

Met mine in the jacuzzi at the gym. Join a gym where there is a sauna, steam and jacuzzi. People chat easily in there, male and female
