Suggestions for DP's 40th weekend away please

My DP turns 40 next year in the summer. I want to plan a surprise weekend break for him. He enjoys walking - think Lake District/ hilly sort of places. And we also both enjoy spa breaks. So I'm thinking somehow combining the two?

Any ideas for something that won't break the bank but a bit of luxury for a a couple nights? ☺️

thank you!

Well maybe not luxurious but my husband wants to walk Hadrian’s Wall for his 50th. I think there are companies that will shift your luggage from pub to pub for you. No idea about cost though.

Or, I’ve always wanted to stay at The Samling hotel in the lakes.

St brides In Saundersfoot Wales, lots of fabulous coastal walks and it has an amazing spa.

Wow - just quickly googled and that place is absolutely stunning! However at over £500 a night it's over budget unfortunately - looking to spend about that for 2 nights if possible ☺️

Buxton Crescent Hotel or Losehill Spa in the Peak District - loads of great walks

Our 40th in November just gone. We got a quite a plush house in the lakes and went to a twilight spa after doing a 4hour hike during the day while we were there. It was literally the perfect weekend, our friends met us out there too. Depends on budget but there's lots of options

That’s why I’ve never been either!

Head for the Scottish munroes. Loads around Perthshire within a short-ish drive of the following:
Fonab Castle, Pitlochry.
Dunkeld House Hotel, Dunkeld.
Cairn Lodge, Auchterarder.
Highland Hotel, Stirling.
Or head a bit further north and stay in Boat Hotel, Boat of Garten (near Aviemore). Edit, actually the Boat isn't a spa.

For hill walking route check Walk Highlands website.

We love The Wild Boar in Bowness. Food is out of this world. Or hire a lodge in the Lakes with a hot tub. Fallbarrow is the ideal location.

Have a look at Another Place https://another.place/ We stayed at their sister hotel down in Cornwall and it was stunning. Felt very luxurious without being stuffy. They sometimes do dinner inclusive breaks too.

Another Place | The Lake
