Dumped by text after 9 months

Just as the title suggests really , dumped by WhatsApp text this morning after a 9 month relationship, both of us in our 50’s so I did expect better behaviour really, maybe a face 2 face or a call, not just the cowards wayout 😡

just pissed of and so disappointed really ☹️

Yes I think you are right, I never considered her a flight risk - but who knows?

moving in together seemed like the next logical move otherwise it felt like perpetual dating, if that makes sense

Yes it makes a great deal of sense. You may have had different long term goals but nothing makes it alright to dump someone by text in your circumstances. I am so sorry.

Better a text than being ghosted, I dated someone for 2 years and one day he just stopped replying. I knew he was still alive as he worked at a neighbouring school. Was great 10 years later when DD was awarded a prize by him (he didn't know that she was related to me but he was now the deputy principal of her school) and he recognized me. He turned a lovely shade of beetroot.

You can start the new year afresh which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Somebody who blocks you right after dumping you by text knows they aren't being their best self.
(Not in cases of abuse)

Talking about moving in after just 9 months does seem a bit fast to me, but it's still shitty behaviour to dump you at this time of year by that method. Sorry OP.

better , as you can manage your reactions and upset 😢 privately

Most people would rather express their emotions. The dumper owes the dumpee a proper conversation and explanation.
