Family Christmas stress - anyone else?

This is just a whinge really as I'm currently feeling a bit overwhelmed by dealing with oldies in Nursing homes, working right up until Christmas as a single mum and then having to deal the usual, awkward divorced Christmas whereby my kids have to spend half the day with their father and his much hated wife! LOL!

Why can't Christmases be like the films ? ;)

Sounds like you need someone to look after you for a bit. Have you family you can go to?
Otherwise you need to plan a pamper time for yourself, particularly if you are going to be alone once the kids have gone to their dad. Make that time something to look forward to.
You have a very demanding job, and being a single parent is demanding too. You need to replenish your energy if you are going to be able to carry on and give the oldies and your kids a good time.

do you normally call older people oldies and think it is not offensive? you do need to educate yourself, both of you.it is incredibly ageist.older adults or much older adults will do.youngie.

I’m 69 and I don’t need anyone taking offence for me, where none is intended. Wind your neck in.
