Struggling with new man :(

Hello

I'm 31. 3 kids.

Been seeing a new man a year.
Love him loads, good to the kids etc.

Fell pregnant 2 months ago. Had abortion which I regret felt it was too soon.
I'm very sad about it. Abortion was 3 weeks ago.

Since my abortion... I've cooked for him, when he was ill, went out bought him medicines n food took to him at work, waited for him to get home till 9pm at night as he works a lot. I've not moaned even whilst I've been bleeding and in pain with the kids.
I keep crying so much n feel lonely inside.
I've also continued to work myself.

Today I've had enough. Last night he finished work at 4 and went to his own house and got himself a takeaway and I just hit rock bottom n realised we never eat together and he doesn't offer.

Today I politely said to him I need to get myself better physically and emotionally. And have some space to heel n look after me. And said I'd like some space for a week to clear my mind.

He's told me I'm selfish and I'm an un supportive woman ?

It's me that's in need. But I've looked after everyone else. I'm so tearful.

What are your thoughts xx

@LydiaRebecca14 "you've only worked 3 days this week try doing 6 like me darling"

FFS you just had an abortion!!! it took me a whole month to heal, both physically and emotionally, I was in my twenties and had no kids! I can’t imagine…

OP this man has zero empathy, please please get rid. It’s as short lived relationship and he’s already being abusive, imagine 5 years and one kid down the line. You’re setting up for a painful life with this man. This is not going to have a happy ending.

SamW98 · 09/12/2023 17:18

Ask yourself what it is you love about this abusive selfish twat.
Or is it you are so desperate to have a man, you’ll accept any old shit?

Sorry if that sounds harsh OP but you need to look at why your bar is so low that you want your kids around this person who treats you like crap.

Opentooffers · 09/12/2023 17:26

Try looking after 3 kids and working 35 hours darling!
You've got this, keep him gone, a better man will appreciate you're amazing and not try to have glory shon down on him by belittling others around him - that's a nasty trait.

EggNoggin · 09/12/2023 17:32

You need to take a break from men before you become one of those women who subjects their kids to a succession of wasters.

Also, I think you need to work on your self esteem and raise the bar a lot before choosing your next boyfriend.

When you eventually do meet someone decent wait a good long time till you intriduce him to your children. They deserve stability and security.

He sounds awful. Chuck him and he can eat takeaways by himself to his heart’s content.

SeparatedAndFree · 09/12/2023 17:38

He sounds like a selfish twat!

ChristmasPuddy · 09/12/2023 17:40

He is a horrible man and does not deserve you! 💕

billy1966 · 09/12/2023 17:44

Nasty ugly man.

You poor woman.

Thank god you terminated.

Please mind yourself and permanently lose that loser.

PaminaMozart · 09/12/2023 17:56

I echo what everybody else has said.

There's a brilliant book which I think you'd find really helpful: Women Who Love Too Much

Socialyawkward · 09/12/2023 17:59

I hope you're asking how to end things not if you should?

He's an utter arse.

Next time - don't mother men.

They come to expect it as their right, do not acknowledge what you do, then when you express an opinion, they are all surprised to learn you're an actual person.

Unfortunately I have found this to be very true. Don't do anything for a partner that you wouldn't do for a good pal and especially don't do anything for a man that he wouldn't do for you and you'll be on a more balanced footing. Especially at this stage in a relationship.

SpringleDingle · 09/12/2023 19:09

Well he is a prince isn’t he?? Time to ditch this waste of space!

StrawberryWater · 09/12/2023 19:27

I have every sympathy with you re the termination but honestly you should be counting your lucky stars you're not having his child.

Ditch him. He's a waste of space, mean and it will only get worse.
