How to ask someone out

I speak to someone at work and I like them and found out on social media they single

I work with them and sometimes speak with them 1-2-1 im a colleague what would be the best way to ask them out?

Just say "I'm thinking of going to watch this film/have a drink at this place/trying this restaurant, would you fancy joining me? If the person declines, say that's ok, you'll go with a friend. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Good luck
