OLD - off putting question?

I find it very offputting when someone I have barely exchanged a few messages with asks about my childcare arrangements with son's father. Thus far on receipt of these messages I just unmatch, as feels they just want to know how much my child would be out of the way... and my child is already an issue for them. I realise I may be over sensitive to this though! What are your thoughts on this? As it happens I have 60/40 care with his father, but do not feel I particularly want to share this either until I at least meet someone!

Sometimes it is to ascertain whether you have the same cycle weekends wise- which is a sensible question I think since it will be difficult to meet up without kids.

Tbf I have children and think it’s a valid question as it’s pretty hard dating someone with a child especially if the other parent isn’t involved but part of me wonders if it’s their way of checking you aren’t looking for a father figure? So checking the dad is involved?

Yeah fair points, but just feel that after only a couple of messages its a bit much. But can also see the sense in it in some way. Another one has just asked it and I am considering breaking my pattern of just unmatching 😅

I think it's a fairly normal question tbh. Aren't you interested in the answer too OP (if you're dating a man with kids)?

It's a very normal question I think your reaction is a little bit defensive are you sure uou are ready. Being on your own and just having fun is fine and if it goes further so be it.

100% a valid question and one I would definitely ask if I was single and using OLD.

I wouldn’t want to get too invested with someone only to find out that they have their children most of the time which would imply they have little time for me or a relationship.
