EHarmony - online dating scammers

This is not about any romantic scammers.

This is a warning about EHarmony the company!

Most dating agencies have a money back guarantee if you withdraw within 14 days of joining. Eharmony states it does too - with a catch. If you cancel within 14 days - which is your declared right - they deduct £65 for a 3 minute computer generated quiz you have no choice but to take.

There’s a Guardian article on this from 2022. And 9/10 of Eharmony’s reviews on TrustPilot are livid about this scam!

Also the website is generally pisspoor. You can’t do searches (which I realise now is because it would reveal how rubbish the site is). You just get allotted a few “matches” at a time - mostly unsuitable even on basics - distance or educational criteria you request are just ignored.

How they’ve gotten away with their “quiz” moneyspinner ruse is awful.

Just sharing. Buyer beware!

I was charged £65 by dating service eHarmony after I broke up with it

I cancelled a subscription to the firm’s website the same day I signed up, but it is still demanding payment
