I’ve searched the forum but can’t find a question on this.

A friend recently found out some terrible stuff about her partner and it has made the whole friendship group very wary of potential boyfriends.

Has anyone submitted a successful request for someone they only knew the current address of, not previous addresses? I assume name and DOB is enough for an initial check. And does the request only “progress” if there is something to disclose?

Yes, you should only need their up to date information, they will have record of previous address if there is something there.
You usually have to be in a current relationship to have a disclosure.

If there’s nothing to tell, there’s nothing to tell. You can only have disclosed if there’s something deemed relevant, in a lot of cases they won’t tell you their whole criminal history if some parts aren’t considered within the domestic abuse/risk remit.
