A nice compliment or could there be more to it?

Been single for about 4 months, bumped into an ex colleague today when shopping with my elderly mum. Didn’t know him particularly well at work but was on friendly terms so always said hello had a chat etc when I saw him. Anyway he saw me, came over and the first thing he said was ‘you look really really good’. we chatted for about 5 mins until my mum needed me then I needed to rush off mid conversation.

Always found him attractive, but as I was married at the time never considered him as anything other than an acquaintance. I think I might well be overthinking this and I’m so out of practice with this kind of thing, so do you think this was just a lovely compliment or is there more to it? There is a work do coming up that I know he will be going to and I would be open to getting to know him a little better but don’t want to overthink things as it’s been a long time since I’ve had to think about these things!

Dont overthink it. You'll soon know if he has any other ideas if he seeks you out at the party. Sit tight and dont do anything

Have a great time at the party. Stay cool and see what happens.
Don’t get drunk.
