So how would your DH/DP feel if you went out for lunch with a male colleague?

Would they be jealous or not at all bothered?

Have arranged to go out for lunch with a manager who I work closely with and Dh says he is not bothered (but I secretly think he is ).

DP would not be jealous in the slightest.
He goes out to lunch with female colleagues and it doesn't bother me at all.

My DP would probably be bothered. But I like that he is.

I would not be bothered at all. I socialise with the opposite sex and it means nothing so have to believe the same of him.

I go out for lunch with male colleague every week. DP not bothered at all - just jealous of what we've eaten (usually chips in the local cafe!).

cory · 09/03/2008 20:40

My dh not bothered either. Be difficult to do my job if I couldn't eat a meal with a colleague.

Moominpappa · 09/03/2008 20:56

Erm, fine. DW has fequently eaten out with colleagues, even one considered Adonis-like by her team.

We have 100% trust on both sides, life wouldn't work otherwise!

motherinferior · 09/03/2008 20:59

Adonis colleagues

That would be a no. He doesn't get bothered if I go for a drink after work with male friends either. Including my ex.

Why would he be bothered? Presumably if you were having an affair you'd book a room in a hotel and claim you were having lunch with a female friend, wouldn't you?

Quattrocento · 09/03/2008 20:59

Gosh this is an extraterrestrial question.

I have lunch with male colleagues and male clients around three times a week. Dinner around once a week. Hardly ever breakfast but breakfast meetings can and do happen.

Why on earth would your DH be jealous?

Unless of course you want him to be?

B1977 · 09/03/2008 21:04

Never even crossed my mind that my DH would be bothered bit having said that I have a good friend who split with her ex-partner because he was jealous when she went out for lunch and dinner with male colleagues and clients and I could totally understand that could be a deal-breaker in a relationship, he wanted a "wifey" not a wife IMO

B1977 · 09/03/2008 21:04

but not bit sorry

VanillaPumpkin · 09/03/2008 21:09

I am a SAHM so no work colleagues, but I did meet up with my first ever boyfriend for lunch a couple of weeks ago. He wasn't bothered...

bubblepop · 09/03/2008 23:07

i don't think mine would like it or be too happy about it
