Online diaries?

Has anyone used an online diary? Feel the need for one to try to (privately) arrange and clarify my thoughts, wants, needs, life plans etc. I know there are diary apps for phones but would prefer an online format.

No. I just use a word document. Before that it was a lovely notebook and pen.

Not sure I trust "online" with my deepest, darkest fears, secrets, aspirations, whinges and rants, if I'm honest. Even if it does claim to be private.

Sorry, that's really no help to you at all 😀

Yeah, no I totally get that, I don't even love the idea myself 😁

Do you mean on a tablet or a laptop?

If a laptop I'd use a Google docs format and password protect it. If an iPad/phone then id go the app route as typing is a bitch! If you were worried about security, you could register with a different email and not use your real name etc - not sure if that helps or not!

I use Daylio on my phone.

I use Notion. It’s basically my back-up brain. It’s just a private app for organisation.

I used an online journal in my 20’s to rant. My abusive ex found it, I was logged in and he “updated” it with his side of the story which was fun for my 5 followers 😅

I use OneNote. I use a OneNote notebook as a journal, and password protect the sections I want to keep private.

I use Daybook for a brief factual note of who said/promised/did what when. It’s been very helpful to remind me of all the lies, letdowns and gaslighting that have happened in a recent relationship.

I also use a paper journal for the happy times and non-relationship ups and downs of life, but I don’t find that so easy to refer back through.

I use Penzu. It really does help with clearing the clutter out of your mind. Once a week you get a reminder of what you wrote in the past and it's a good way to view my progress/healing.

@JerkintheMerkin oh, interesting! 🤔
