Nc with family members who won’t accept it.

Is anyone else NC with a family member who just won’t accept it? Do they ever? I’m not in a position to move at the moment and won’t be for years but I hate living 10 minutes away from them. They just won’t accept that I don’t want them in my life anymore. Has anyone been in this situation and what did you do to get them to leave you alone?

Tell them in writing what it is you want in detail. Send it in a way they have to sign for the mail so you have a receipt that they got it. Or you can hire a solicitor and have him or her send it on your behalf - that may be better actually.

But spell out in detail how you have asked this person repeatedly to leave you alone but they insist on intruding into your life. Add dates if you have them. Then what you want... for example:

(1) Your number will be blocked from this point forward as I have no desire to speak to you on the phone.
(2) You are not to come to my home or I will call the police and file a complaint for harassment; I will never again come to yours.
(3) You are blocked on all my social media as I have no interest in associating with you.
(4) If we happen to run into each other in a public setting, you are prohibited from approaching or speaking to me.
(5) If there are family events and you will be in attendance, I will not show up. That includes weddings and funerals.

Then add anything else you want to add, emphasizing that the police will be called as you have provided written proof that you want nothing to do with this person who insists on bothering you.
