Why do I feel like this?

Hi,
I’m new to mumsnet but I really need some advice. I’m a bit nervous as I’ve not really spoken to anyone about this but I wanted to get other peoples views.

Me and my ex have been apart for a year and he’s delaying our house sale - he just doesn’t want to let me go. He invades my privacy , stolen something and broken it , gaslights me, verbally and physically abusive and just switches between nice and nasty.

Ive reported his behaviour to the police after the stealing and verbal abuse recently as i just couldn’t cope anymore. I’ve seen a solicitor but to force a sale could cost up to £20,000 which I just can’t afford.

Ive been so full of anger but today he apologised and gave me the money back for the item he damaged and stole. So why am I now softening? I don’t get why my head just can’t stay angry and won’t allow me to move on.

I have no idea where to go from now
