How long should it take to get ready?

Please help to settle an argument between me and my husband!

Morning routine when I've gone upstairs is:
Go to loo
Brush teeth
Wash and moisturise face
Put on foundation and blusher
Get dressed
Brush hair and do ponytail.

How much time in total would you say I'd need?

I'm not sure why it matters unless he is waiting for you to leave together? I think 30 minutes when you're not having a shower is madness. It took me 30 mins to get ready on my wedding day 😂

Thanks watchkeys.

I should point out that "accommodating" is my own term for the purpose of this thread. He's never said anything like that thankfully!

I really value your points, but tbf to hy husband, I think if I switched positions with him, I would probably find the timekeeping thing a bit irritating too if I'm being honest.

And would he then be posting on forums to find out what was a 'viable' time to get himself ready according to your irritation, d'you think? Or would he more likely do something like an eye-roll or a chuckle, to dismiss your irritation?

I'd take twenty mins and I'd be pushing it. I'd probably have to skip the foundation.

coolkatt · 18/09/2023 19:45

this is ridiculous.
you take as long as you need to take. if you get up early enough so u are not hogging the toilet and the shower then seriously, you take how long you need, incorporating times as appropriate. but no u don't go faster or quicker just cos HE seems to think u can and should. fuck that. next thing u will take ten mins and he will moan u look a mess. tell him to get lost and go do something better instead of clocking you.
christ what next will trying to control?

Do you spend a lot of the time staring in the mirror or something? That takes me 10 mins, including blowdry fringe. And I'm usually chatting to my kid while doing it.

slithytoveisascientist · 18/09/2023 21:35

I was going to say 20 mins

If I was taking too long I would consider laying clothes out the night before, moisturising while on loo etc
