I sent a message and deleted before it delivered. Does this mean the recipient will receive the message or not ?

They will be able to see you sent a message but not see it. It will just be a like saying “this message was deleted”

It may momentarily flash up in notifications

Depends of recipient knows you can see last few messages even if deleted in notification history under settings.

It says deleted, so I usually follow up with an explanation unless ive sent another message so.it just looks like youve sent a replacement. Something like "Sorry, message was for someone else, so deleted" or whatever

Some people get suspicious, depends on their personality.

I've one person who always asks what it was I sent! So that's why I follow them up.now

It depends how their notifications are set up. If they have 'show preview' selected, it may show them the content of the start of the message on their lock screen. But, when they open whatsapp, they will only see 'message deleted'
