Perimenopause, hormones, or just not that bothered?

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has been through perimenopause and how it affected you/your relationships etc

For context, I’m 38F, came out of horribly abusive 10 year relationship last year. Met a wonderful man beginning of this year, struggling to fault him, but at times I find myself so distant. Could I be perimenopausal, if so what are the symptoms and how do you get it confirmed? I’ve read lots on the internet about how it can affect your mood, relationships etc, but would love to know some real life experiences to see if I can relate to them

It could be that it’s just too soon following your previous relationship and your mind is trying to protect itself.

It takes a long while to get over an abusive relationship, you might need to trust your feelings and give yourself a bit more time.
