Reoccurring dreams of random man

preface to say this is a light hearted thread.

I keep having these random dreams of a man I vaguely know, who I haven’t seen for weeks. Like I really vaguely know him, friend of a friend of a friend sort of thing.

No (and I mean NO) mutual attraction and the dreams aren’t sexy. They’re just every day type of dreams like being in the supermarket and he walks around with me and I keep telling him what to put in the trolley. One of the dreams I was in a class (?!!) and he let me borrow his pencils. Last night‘S dream I was plugging in In a Nintendo switch (no idea why, I don’t have one!) and he kept friendly teasing me that I was putting the cords in the wrong holes so I switched them around when he wasn’t looking as he was right. So they’re tame and boring.

it’s so weird. He certainly isn’t on my mind (except now as I’m talking about him).

He’s featured in my dreams every single night now for the past 15 nights. I am now getting weirded out because of the frequency. I don’t tend to dream or remember my dreams so this to me is freaking me out a bit.

What message are the dream gods trying to send me? I know dream interpretations are to some people hippy dippy voodoo, but I’m just interested in any ideas. I know dreams usually signify the opposite of what you dream (or was that an old wives tale my mum told me?)!

Anyway, for fun, any ideas?

Some people believe that dreams can reveal your soulmate or twin flame, someone who is meant to be with you in this lifetime. If you keep dreaming of someone, it could mean that they are your twin flame, or that they are on their way to you. Twin flames can be romantic or platonic, and they are usually someone who brings out the best in you and helps you grow as a person.

Yes….every night! It’s so strange. I really never normally dream - or if I do, I don’t remember them.

Interesting about the twin flame thing and personal growth. I should have googled it!

Thank you both for responding.

One boring explanation would be that you dreamt about him once, randomly - as part of the normal brain sifting through what's in your subconscious - this intrigued you so he remained on your mind and it's become self-perpetuating - the more you think about him, the more likely you are to dream about him.

Another thing you could ask are, does he remind you of someone close/significant to you, on a subconscious level? You might be dreaming about him as a substitute for or representative of someone else - it could be for superficial reasons such as a vague similarity in appearance or manner. Is there some resemblance to (e.g.) your granddad or your first boyfriend or a someone who bullied you in childhood - that kind of thing.

If you can link him to someone, it might mean your brain is trying to resolve old conflicts, or has recognised an old conflict re-emerging in a situation you are experiencing now, and is playing around to help you find a solution.

Dreams come from your subconscious not the supernatural.

Think about the type of person he is and the energy he gives off in real life. Dreams are symbolic rather than specific. He's probably representing something that you are going through or feeling at the moment and your mind has subconsciously related it to him. I sometimes dream of old colleagues I've not seen in years and if I think back there's usually something in real life that's triggered it.

Masterofhappydays · 16/08/2023 07:29

It just is so bazar as I wouldn’t have ever thought of him. I probably am dreaming of him now though because I’m investing time thinking about him in the dreams. I do think that. Unnerving!

As for energy: I’m sure he’s a lovely man. Seems nice etc. I have barely ever spoken to him. He’s like a background person. I forget he exists (that sounds mean) so I don’t think I was even subconsciously thinking of him.

I do think he’s appearing as a symbol rather than a person. Like he represents something rather than himself.

I suspect you are thinking a lot about how weird it is, therefore, you are dreaming about him because he's in your conscious thoughts during the day.

Fwiw, I have sporadic (sexy) dreams about my considerably older former landlord from a few years ago. I have no idea why. I am not remotely attracted to former landlord man, though he's a lovely person. I don't see him anymore. Very rarely speak to anyone about him. No idea why he features in my dreams - and certainly not in the 'way' he does. 😳
