Looking for inspiration really, is there any hope for a positive future when a long marriage ends? I’d really like to hear your stories as I need some encouragement at the moment.

Yes, left my 25yr marriage, lived alone for a while then met someone new (who had also come out of a 25+ year marriage. Moved in together, got married and were very, very happy (until he died). Now single and on my own but OK with that.

Depends. Ex H left me.
I'm happy now, after a very traumatic 18 months but lonely. I don't miss the negative aspects of my ex and I can quite easily manage all things he did. I've built BBQs, learned how to check tyre pressures, put together flat pack. It's very empowering and totally easy. I love having my autonomy back. My house is clean and I think I've grown closer to my primary aged kids. Good female friends are essential, and are the reason I've survived this.
Dating however is a lost cause. I'm 47.
All the good men are taken for a reason. Those men my age that are attractive and decent are married or looking for a partner in her 30s.
