Red flag?

A guy I've recently started texting uses disappearing messages on WhatsApp. Nobody else I know uses this, is this a red flag? It's making me think, what do you have to hide? I don't know if it's something I should mention to him as things are casual between us at the moment, nothing official, but he has mentioned wanting to go on a date soon. Any advice?

If it's photos, say flirty selfies or something, then I think that's just really sensible.

If it's just ordinary texts like "shall we meet on Friday" then yeah it's a bit odd

How long before the messages disappear?

I use disappearing messages for some of my chats because it saves me clearing them out (which I'd otherwise do from time to time).

If there's messages I really want to keep private I lock them.

I don't think it's a red flag in itself unless you've noticed other signs he might be already married or in a relationship.
