DP and I are considering getting married abroad at some point but not sure where. Where was yours and would you recommend it?

Peasoup, I'm guessing you do most of your work at the weekends and during the summer? That kind of puts me off.

In the Drakensberg in South Africa - but if I'd had more money, I would have done it somewhere at a luxury game lodge and got married in the bush

We didnt actually have the wedding (did that here with just 9 family guests) but the weekend afterwards we had a fantastic wedding party for about 70 people in the Alps - pretty much took over a little village. The weather was amazing, sunny and 80 deg. We had a fab meal on the Friday night, big party up the mountain on Saturday, karaoke and buffet in a ski pub on the Sunday. In between people hung around the pool, went horse riding, cycling, mountain biking, white water rafting, climbing etc. Everyone had an amazing time. We paid for 3 nights of food and drink and 2 nights accomodation for everyone and (whisper it) it cost us less that £15k...

Weddings I do abroad are mostly winter; U.K. ones mostly summer. Yes, lots of weekends but DH is self employed too and works lots of Saturdays but takes time off in the week, so we do mid week breaks, etc-(cheaper!). Have taken DH and DS along to destination weddings sometimes and turned it into a mini break. Since DS our social life isn't so busy anyway so weekends aren't what they used to be anyway!
