Hi, how do you deal with a mother that never bothers, makes no effort to be in your life aswel as her grandchildren.

Also constantly defends my brother for his shitty actions, for example again similar makes zero effort with me, my children forgets birthdays, christmases and my mom defends him.

All you can do is remove them from your life, or at least change your response/ignore. You can't change their behaviour IME, only yours. I have no contact with my sister and low contact with my DP's for the same reason you are struggling with.

Reduce contact is really all you can do.

My DM favours a sibling and those grand children are lauded to a height. She's indifferent to my DS.

He knows that any gift granny gets him will be thoughtless and not his thing at all - he does not know that she puts a LOT of thought into what she gets for his cousins, he just thinks that she's a bit shit with gifts, because she's like that with me as well.

You deal with it by acknowledging that she has a favourite child (who isn't you) and stop expecting her to be fair. Detach because chasing a person who doesn't care is not good for anyone's self esteem.
