are all sucessful, in their career, women divorced?

just something i have been wondering.
the successful women i come across in NHS all seem to be.

or is it just the divorce rates are so high regardless of careers?

Lol. I am divorced. Am pretty successful in my career but only became so after my divorce!! Am with new partner now so does that count...

I earn a reasonable amount so if that counts as successful then no, I disprove your theory as I am v happily married. ALTHOUGH, I am also divorced (from DH#1) so hmm. But nothing to do with working/not working etcm not at all.

Oh and actually it's 1 in 3 marriages that end in divorce so you're probably likely to meet someone divorced among almost any sample of the population. I doubt there's a correlation between success and divorce.

i have a number of female friends who have six figure salaries - five, maybe. only one is divorced

Was going to come on and say "no..." but then I though "oh yeah, my mums divorced". Who knows...

Although in saying that when I got divorced I counted that as one of my most 'successful'moments in life!!

IMO mens ego are so fragile they can't stand the thought of a women earning more/having a more important job than they have and this in itself causes friction, so you may be right after all.

Without putting any value judgement on it, you would expect more successful career women to be divorced, really. Because if you're financially independent you can afford to leave a bad marriage.

Also, the more highly educated a woman is, the less likely she is to get married, or have children. Maybe the same goes for divorce. It doesn't necessarily mean that more educated women or women with a higher earning potential aren't marriage material but their priorities might be on other things.

hmm, i was wondering if the successful woman's husband does not back her up, or is jealous, and perhaps once she is financially stable she feels she doesn have to take "the crap"

i think i'm a successful career woman and am married to a man earning a lot less. i have to say my career is one of the few htings we don't argue about, he knows it's important to me and it brings home the bacon, so in that respect, he's a sensible man

I know quite a number of female high flying lawyers - virtually all are (still) married with children.

I'm highly educated, I'm going to have a successful career and I'm going to have a marriage.... I have none (apart from the education) yet, but I will have!

All the teachers at DS school are either single (not divorced) or married and together... they are a team of high flying women IMO so I don't think there is much correlation between career/divorce
