DH and I hadn't had sex for almost 2 years.
This the result of infertility, invasive treatment for same.... just too many people sticking unwanted items up there anyway I ended up with psychosexual counselling as I couldn't even face a smear test.
And that didn't work either.
Then yesterday I spent the day laughing my head off at the 'how does your partner inititate sex' thread and I thought 'bloody hell, it used to be fun....we could just have a laugh and forget all the other stuff'
And so we did, and we did it and it was fab.
So somewhat strangely mumsnet cured my sexual dysfunction, and I'm very, very grateful and I think DH is too.
(obviously I've changed my usual name...)

Hallelujah, sorry to be so up front, but in your OP you mentioned psychosexual counselling. I have been referred to this too and actually have my first appointment next Friday. To be honest I am absolutely terrified, have no idea how it will begin or anything, worried about what questions they will ask etc, Is it really embarrassing? Are they as direct as I think they might be?

Would appreciate any info as I am really quite nervous and can just imagine me sitting there quaking in my boots. Plus can't really talk to DH as he knows I am going to see someone but he doesn't know what or why I am seeing them. (I told him it was physio)

Thanks

Great news

he didn't have to do anything, I dragged him upstairs. Bless him, he's been terrified of suggesting anything as I've been through the mill a bit, and so has he

Sorry my naughtylittlesister just saw your post.
I can only say how it was for me obviously but the lady was just lovely, very gentle, very kind and taking all her cues from me. I appreciated the chance to talk to someone and she never pushed me to talking about something I didn't want to.
I really hope it works for you, I'm sure it's just brilliant for some but I just needed something different I guess - the mumsnet jack russelling cure

Ok, thanks Hallelujah, I should have had the first appointment last Friday but the silly receptionist didn't change the time when I had requested it, so when I turned up the counsellor had already gone home! So now I have the build up all over again!

Good luck with it all mnls
