OLD message saying their profile is about to be deleted

I was browsing on POF yesterday and sent a playful message to a man who replied saying I was exactly what he was looking for and wrote two full paragraphs of stuff that made it clear my message had not been read (it was poking fun at his profile in a gentle way).

Part of this huge reply was a statement to say he was going to delete his profile and to email him quickly and included his email address. There is something deeply fishy about the reply and I'm sure I've had similar messages before. Has anyone else had these kinds of messages? And I am right to be suspicious aren't I? It feels fake, I'm tempted to report, his pics are all posed, clear and he's a good looking bloke- I'm no oil painting and I rarely get messages from such men. I'm convinced he's a sock puppet.

Of course it’s a fake. Trust your good judgement.

Yep sounds dodge, I'd report him

Reported, deleted and forgotten. These sock puppets are a pain in the butt.

@HelsyQ I don't think it's that, I think he's in Nigeria or somewhere doing a money scam. The pictures were not real (I did a reverse image search and they are stock images). He's long forgotten now. Thanks though, creep definitely, my radar and s right up!
