Help Is anyone awake?

Hi All

Is anyone awake? I really need some hugs right now

Please see my original thread - Husband & Communication www.mumsnet.com/Talk/relationships/4612008-husband-communication

I've given him space and last night I asked him to talk calmly and he said it won't end well

After walking off and composing myself

He said he doesn't know what he wants, he's not happy at the moment. He can't let the events of Sunday go and he doesn't know why. He said I always put others in the family before him and our daughter. I don't agree at all, my daughter is my priority. He got annoyed at my dad for moaning about my grandfather and then started crying because his grandfather isn't here to see our daughter grow up.

I asked what I'm doing wrong and he couldn't give me an answer and I asked what I can do to help and he said he didn't know, he just wants space.

So I'm now in limbo as to whether this is the end of my marriage? I don't want it to be, I love him dearly and I want to help fix it what seems to have blown hugely out of proportion

I've had like an hours sleep and I've got to go to work shortly.

Oh, there's always time for an affair, especially if you have the habit of "long hours at work". Never discount infidelity because of apparent lack of opportunity - people make time and take risks (like quickies in the car or loos) for illicit sex.

Not saying he is cheating, but it is always a possibility, and would fit with his sudden making up reasons to be angry and get away from you.

In all honesty apart from these flip outs, we speak all the time. So he rings when he's in work right up until he leaves and it's fourty minutes home, which he phones me from the car so no concerns there at all.

Ringing and needing to speak all the time is also a sign of an affair they know they are doing wrong and need to know everything is still ok at home and having been discovered it's called a guilty conscience!

I think this affair stuff is based on factless information

There's other problems to deal with

I'm trying to keep a level head on my shoulders and decide my next step

He talked a little small talk with me this morning before work about my job and then I left without saying bye or love you like I normally do.

It's not factless, it's based on common experience that often when blokes start picking fights & demanding space for no real reason, it's because they want to have time for the OW and get their partner to back the hell off from questioning their behaviours.

It's just something to bear in mind as a possibility, not a certainty.

Yep this is classic affair behaviour everything the op has written screams affair I'd bet on it

He sound like he is punishing you for standing your ground. This is abuse and abusers rarely change. If you stay together the only way to protect yourself is to stop caring.

Men asking for space have nearly always had their heads turned. No man jumps ship unless he has somewhere soft to fall.

Okay I'll bare this in mind
