Talking for weeks but never arranging meeting up

Evening everyone
I have been trying online dating recently and some guys want to keep messaging for weeks but never actually want to meet in real life. I keep trying to arrange meeting very soon after we start talking as it would be a waste of time to talk for weeks and then discover there is no spark in real life.

Some guys will keep saying they want to meet up but can't due to certain commitments like work, study, holiday etc. Some will arrange dates and then cancel at the last minute with a ridiculous excuse. We end up messaging for a few weeks but they avoid meeting up. I ask them about 3 times if they want to meet and they keep making excuses but saying we will meet soon.

Has anyone got a clue why they would do that? It keeps happening and it's so frustrating.

I wouldn’t keep up with messaging for weeks.

I try to meet within 2 weeks, as you say if there's no spark it's a waste of time. Just move on to the next one. It might feel harsh at first, but there are so many time wasters and your time matters. Keep those standards high!
