Last night my DH told me that the average couple have sex 3 times a week ...
I have told him that has to be absolute Bolleaux and that I will put it to Mumsnet.
He tried to back track and say that Mumsnet wasn't a good example of the population to ask such information - ROFL
Um so 50,000+ (how many members does MN have now?) women with children is not a good cross section?

FWIW: I think Once a week is a very very active sexlife Chez Ghosty ... but it is more like twice a month here

Anyway, PLEASE help me out here girls - SURELY 3 times a week CAN'T be the average for people with kids???

Couple of times a month her too ghosty. Very difficult with teenagers; easier when they were little so if yours are, tell dh it ain't going to improve any time soon.

I wouldn't go as far as "no-one", but I would say that it is more the exception than the rule. And of those that do, I suspect that there may sometimes be a quantity v quality tradeoff.

Certainly I know plenty of couples where, according to the female half, once a month is seen as "good". So if the average were to be 3 times a week, then there would need to be a large number averaging over 5 times a week - not likely.

However, rather than trying to refute a pointless argument, your dh may be trying to tell you something?

Once a week is about right for the Luxembourg household.
However I do recommend that if you are thinking (as I was last night)

No, my DH is lovely and handsome and all that for a man of 36 etc etc (IMO of course) but I just don't have the time or inclination to have a bonk 3 times a week ... god no.

Hmmm! do you know what Ive definatly had it in the last month, but I can't remember when. But Ive got a lively imagination and that keeps me going till the next time.
