Sex with my husband

My husband is 36 and has type 1 diabetes. Our sex has life has been fine for 3 years, occasionally he will take viagra when he's had alcohol, just to help him get up.

A few months ago he really struggled to get it up and now it seems he's unable to have sex without viagra. We can't spontaneously have sex anymore because he needs to take a pill.

My husband said he feels like a robot, I'm just looking for some advice on how to make my husband feel better about this. He's worried about getting close to me in case I try to initiate sex and he won't be able to in that moment.

Unfortunately ED can be quite common among diabetic men, was the viagra vis a GP prescription or just over the counter?

If over the counter he should see a gp for a health check.

Unfortunately he may have to a pill each time from now onwards, but there are some low dose ED meds that you take every day, rather then just normal viagra which is obviously as & when needed.

Not sure how you help your husband with this, maybe just some reassurance? , tell him to take a pill once and a while?

It's possible to have great sexual contact without an erect penis in the mix.

I suspect a sex therapist would advise that you take penetration off the table for a specified period, but concentrate on closeness & touching. That would keep the connection going between you while you adjust to what meds he wants to take.

Get him to see his GP to rule out physical cause. Also try this:
