Genital warts ??

Hi everyone

I am really worried at the moment.. I had a Hollywood wax nearly two weeks ago now.. the day after I noticed a spot on the left side of my labia on the bit where the hair grows (obviously there wasn’t any hair).

I tried to squeeze it and some white puss came out.. but over the next couple of days it wasn’t going down and I squeezed it a few more times and more white puss came out ( sorry for the info)

It formed kind of a scan over it and was pretty much gone but I came on my period yesterday and the pad was irritating it abit and I noticed a hair sticking out of it so tweezed it out .. All good I thought okay ingrown hair finally came to the top.

I have some ingrow go for ingrown hairs so I put some on it to bring the swelling down and to my horror it completly turned it white !! I have read that saclyic acid turns warts white ?? I looked at the ingredients and it has acetysalacyic acid in it which apparently is different from salacylic acid.

I have had the HPV vaccine but I am very worried now. It doesn’t look anything like a wart and I didn’t think warts contained puss geneuinely thought it was a spot but it had turned bright white ??

Help anyone

Thanks for your responses I also have health anxiety so I’m really worrying.. everything online points to if they skin turns white then it is a wart

@cherrypie66 because it turned white when I put my ingrown hair stuff on and when I applied the apple cider vinegar

Surely it's just the skin reacting to whatever chemical you are applying to it

dementedpixie · 15/11/2021 18:21

Stop sticking strange chemicals on your lady parts. A bit of antiseptic and leave it alone

cherrypie66 · 15/11/2021 18:21

Honestly stop worrying. It's more than likely a spot. Leave it be and it will probably go in a few days If it doesnt get an appt with the doctor if worst case scenario it is a wart they are easily treated

Sakurami · 15/11/2021 18:26

Once you squeeze a spot, it fills up again. Leave it for a while and it will be fine

@Rosey1334p
Get yourself some of this it will draw what ever in it out, I get boils and spots from ingrown hair all the time have had a few ops to remove the root but this helps in the mean time.

Genital warts ??

It doesn’t look like a wart, it has pus in which warts don’t have, you’ve had the HPV vaccine - why on earth are you leaping to genital warts when it’s way more likely to be a spot?

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 15/11/2021 18:57

Its not a wart its an ingrown hair. Wart stuff turns all skin white not just warts.you can't squeeze white stuff out of a wsrt as its solid with no fluid in it.

NCnotmyusualone · 15/11/2021 19:01

I get this along my eyebrows if I have them waxed or threaded. It’s the reason I’ve not had anywhere else waxed. They are just spots from irritation. I find witch hazel works really well on them, but not sure that’s the best thing to be splashing about down there!

Rosey1334p · 15/11/2021 19:32

The reason I am worrying is because it isn’t turning any other area of the skin white apart from this one spot and I’ve used this ingrown soloution loads of times before and it has never turned spots white. i know I may be over worrying but I have health anxiety aswell so it doesn’t help either. I was sure it was a ingrown hair till I put the soloution on it and it went bright white

Nothing we say is making any difference to your anxiety
Why not monitor it and if it goes away in a few days it's not a wart

happinesscherries · 15/11/2021 19:49

Also genital warts are common. HPV is outrageously common. If you have GW, then so be it. Any noticeable warts you can see a doc about but it most likely won’t flare up much.

HPV vaccine does not stop GW.

dementedpixie · 15/11/2021 19:51

@happinesscherries the nhs disagrees with you

happinesscherries · 15/11/2021 19:53

@dementedpixie no it doesn’t - it “helps” protect, it doesn’t completely prevent / stop.

I know enough people who have GW and had the vaccine when we were at school.

Rosey1334p · 15/11/2021 20:03

I was under the impression the vaccine prevents 90 percent of genital wart strains ? So yes there is a 10 percent chance it’s that

Have you ever had herpes?

Sometimes waxing and shaving can trigger an attack.

Listen, OP. Your health anxiety is out of control. By all means go to the GP to have them have a look at this spot to put your mind at ease. Until your appointment, park it and distract yourself and stop self checking and researching - you’ve made an appointment, you will get an answer. No amount of reassurance seeking is going to reassure you - reassurance seeking is only going to exacerbate your anxiety. But please, while you are at your GP, please tell them that you would like to explore treatment and management of your health anxiety - this is the real issue you need to address. Good luck, you can get to a better mental place.
