How likely is this?

Would like to know how likely it would be for a man to fabricate a story about having sex with sex workers as a cover for having an actual affair?

Could he be having an affair with someone close to you? Your sister? Best friend? Married next door neighbour?

Why do you think he is saying this ? Have you ever indicated that paying for anonymous sex is “better” than having the emotional entanglement of an affair ?

(It isn’t, it’s worse)

I was wondering why on earth he wouldn't just admit to an affair. If he said it was an affair, I would obviously ask who with. He would then tell me - either someone I was vaguely aware of, or someone I did not know.

Instead, he fabricated some bizarre story about sex workers, which changed over time, some details of which do not make sense.

I don't have a sister. One of the other categories I had not considered. But if it was this one it would blow not only our marriage apart, but also his family, would be potentially quite dangerous for him, and would also make it impossible for us to stay in the house.

Can't for the life of me figure out the logistics of an affair with this person though.
