Match.com blocked by someone I have never looked at?

Hi, I have been using Match on and off for a year or so and have been blocked several times by users who I have never had any interaction with or even viewed their profile? My profile is in no way offensive and I get a fair bit of traffic and always reply politely if I receive a message.
I know that it means nothing (as I have no idea who these users are) but it irks me. Is it a glitch or do you think that some people get a kick out of randomly blocking. BTW they are not anyone I would be interested in. Thanks

Not sure really but I’m sure they’re not just doing it to you. My first thought is that they are just ‘pruning’ down the list of who is available to look at. I wouldn’t take offence, the right person will be out there.

Maybe it's someone who recognises you and doesn't want to be seen themselves.

Is it not more likely that they have set settings so that anyone who smokes or who is outworh a certain age range ect... just doesn't get access to their profile because it's not what they are looking for?

Or even that they have left the site and you are just seeing a blocked message because the profile hasn't come down right yet?

I wouldn't take it personally.

It might be the husband/BF of one of your friends.

How do you know they've blocked you if you've never viewed their profile?

If you’ve been on there a while perhaps you keep popping up in their “matches”, they’re not interested in you for whatever reason so they’ve blocked you so they don’t keep seeing you over and over?

When I was on OLD I blocked anyone that I did not want to contact me, like pp says, pruning down who is in my availability. I blocked:

Men with kids
Men with profile photos of them with a towel round their waist looking in the mirror/leaning on a stupid car wearing sunglasses/wearing sunglasses indoors/big muscle guys/men with profiles I didn't like the sound of/men into shooting or guns/men who just seemed like wankers.

They may have messaged you and then regretted it so you would never see the message. Usually when they've said something dirty or rude.

Yeah quite a few! including my now DP of 11 years.

I think that this might be the case as I have people who “appear” to visit my profile on a daily basis and I know from reading about match that this is a glitch. Maybe it appears that I am visiting their profile regularly?

I’d assume that either they don’t want you coming up in their search/suggestions or else they don’t want to see and recognise them for whatever reason.
