Did you get tested for Covid before you got physical? I've met someone who seems nice but it seems such a leap to even kiss or hug him after spending a whole year purposely not touching anyone (I've been very cautious). He has just been vaccinated though.

Anyone....?

Nope. Met him in Feb 20 and then we went into lockdown.
We carried on seeing each other tbh and are still going 13 months later.

Puddington · 19/03/2021 20:53

Nope, although we did both live alone and didn't have any other "bubbles" or anything, but it wouldn't have occurred to me to get a test tbh. We live together now.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 19/03/2021 20:58

Nope..But i live alone & was WFH from March last year. He lived with a relative and wasnt mixing with anyone else.
Im now about to give birth to his baby Smile

TheLost · 19/03/2021 21:00

No, we met in July when restrictions were a bit looser. We haven’t had any extra testing or anything though.

Wanderlusto · 19/03/2021 21:33

Nope. But I was snogging him from date one so it would have been a bit pointless lol.

Givemeabreak88 · 19/03/2021 21:33

Why would you very ott

BouquetsAndBalls · 19/03/2021 21:36

I must be a weirdo then. Met someone in Nov and we've not touched or met indoors yet! Park walks only, socially distanced!!!

If we were to get closer now, we'd probably both get a test if we could.

We're just waiting til restrictions are lifted as I care for my very elderly mum and disabled son and he volunteers at a vaccination centre. We've both only had one vaccination so far.

Finally someone as cautious as me, BouquetsAndBalls! Although definitely sounds like you both have very good reasons for being so careful.

I think we are in the minority bigbluesea Grin

Good luck with your relationship.

bigbluesea · 19/03/2021 21:47

Thank you, BouquetsAndBalls. You too! I am very impressed that you've managed to find a man who is happy to wait.

Ditto wanderlusto. It didn’t even cross my mind to get tested. We’ve both been tested separately when we’ve had symptoms but back in the summer you couldn’t just get a test whenever you fancied a shag.

Good grief. So you got pregnant within two or three months of meeting, while in lockdown? Confused
LivBa · 20/03/2021 00:17

I'm also cautious. I would wait until I've had both vaccinations and he has too. The thing is someone can test negative at one point in time then get infected soon after, especially if they're not being careful around social distancing, handwashing, and limiting social contacts.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 20/03/2021 09:31

I got pregnant during the Summer yes.
We had known each other a little longer than you suggest.
Thanks for your judgement though, you sound lovely Grin

The question was about people who started dating during the pandemic - which started (here, at least) not much more than 13 months ago iirc.

Anyway, glad it's all going well for you.

Illy605 · 20/03/2021 18:35

@Wavescrashingonthebeach

I met my partner March last year right before lockdown. We are due our baby boy in June ☺️
Congratulations to you both. Screw what anyone else thinks!!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 20/03/2021 18:50

@LemonMeringueThreePointOneFour

It was a lockdown / pandemic romance and pregnancy but i cant be arsed going into the details of it any more. Im waiting to go into labour any time now so think am best avoiding Mumsnet for a bit. Surround myself with positivity haha as prone to bursting into tears at the drop of a hat.

@Illy605
Thank you congratulations to you too our little boy be here any day now! Going to be a lovely Summer Smile
