Would you give up sex for a million pounds?

I was watching a programme on sugar babies and it got me thinking.

These women are in their 20s, 30s, 40s at most. And they are married- but essentially companions/nurses to men 30 if not 40 years older. I cannot believe that they are having sex with these men as it would be unlikely that they could even get an erection.

The thing all these men have in common is, surprise surprise, money.

Now assuming that it really is a love match Hmm and they have intimacy without penetrative sex, I can’t help feeling sorry for them.

So, would you give up sex for money?

Firstly, they probably do have sex with other people. And also, they will probably inherit so it won't be forever, so a more legitimate question might be, would you give up sex for ten years to get 5 million?

That's looking better already, isn't it? Grin

Koalababy · 24/02/2021 05:13

Good point! I’ll ask MNHQ to change the title Grin

Yea I would. But I don’t have the highest sex driveGrin

Many men in their 50s, 60s, and 70s and older still really enjoy sex. They don’t recover as quickly as an 18 year old, but sex isn’t the preserve of the young. I’d put money on them having sex. You don’t pay that sort of money for a cuddle and an evening jigsaw.

RantyAnty · 24/02/2021 05:25

Marriage for love is a relatively modern thing.

Marriage as a business transaction is still common in some areas.

So why not, for a year or so.
I've had perfectly shitty relationships free of charge! Grin

joystir59 · 24/02/2021 05:29

Well some feminists define heterosexual marriage as unpaid prostition so I guess at least these women are being paid.

sweetnessnfight · 24/02/2021 05:30

When I was in my thirties I was with a guy in his fifties and he was randy as hell. Often 3 times a night which I hadn't had with those my own age,

Aside from that I think that there are a lot of people who originally had love matches but are now in sexless marriages. I think giving up sex for a million pound would be easy. But as a pp said, you would probably just get it elsewhere.

I think you underestimate old guys. I expect the women earn their money.

Windchangeface · 24/02/2021 05:58

I know it’s a bit different but at 6 months pregnant, with SPD and an active baby hitting the toddler stage I would give up sex for a tenner and a bar of chocolate!

hellywelly3 · 24/02/2021 06:06

Lots of people in their 70’s still have sex. Look at the STI rates for the over 60’s they’re very high

StarlightLady · 24/02/2021 06:21

I’d give up sex for a day, maybe 2 or even 3. Does that count?

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 24/02/2021 07:24

Of course men in their 50s and 60s have sex. It's typical when you're in your 20s to think those ages are old but when you get here (I'm 56) you don't feel any different to when you're 25 except feeling more worldly wise and more assured perhaps but you don't suddenly become decrepit and incapable when you pass the 50 mark.

The kids have flown the nest so there's more privacy, often higher up the career ladder so less anxious about money, where you're going in life etc., generally more confident in the world, more experienced ... all aphrodisiacs.

I've had a lot of sex over the years but currently having the best sex I've ever had - although that's with a 60 year old woman ;- so doesn't really help with your query over erectile dysfunction but my similar age friends in heterosexual marriages are reporting similar due to the reasons I just outlined.

Don't knock it til you try it.

RubyandPearl · 24/02/2021 07:41

I'd give up sex for £2.50 and a bag of chips to be honest

category12 · 24/02/2021 07:48

Older people continue to have sex lives.

Regardez this link from rcn about sex and intimate relationships in care homes. www.rcn.org.uk/professional-development/publications/pub-007126

Consider if you will, older celebrities who become fathers in their sixties, seventies, eighties. Bernie Eccleston and all that.

I really don't think sugar babies just have to look young and pretty on his arm.

MiniTheMinx · 24/02/2021 07:57

This reminds me of an elderly couple I knew years ago. She was a young spritely early 70s he was well into his 80s. One day she looked absolutely exhausted, and said "he's kept me up all night" I thought maybe he'd been shuffling back and forth to the bathroom or something "nope, he's obsessed with sex, wants it all the time" Grin

I'd give it up for long term security. But I'd not give it up with DH.....but he's neither rich nor decrepit.

Bluntness100 · 24/02/2021 08:00

I think your title might be misleading. It says give up sex for money. Do you mean stop having sex if paid ? Because the body of the post then talks to sugar babies, which is providing sex for money. You’re getting both answers because it’s not clear, if you mean foregoing sex, or providing sex.

Senabak · 24/02/2021 08:00

I would

JaninaDuszejko · 24/02/2021 08:06

I cannot believe that they are having sex with these men as it would be unlikely that they could even get an erection.

Maybe they are really good at cunnilingus?

ufucoffee · 24/02/2021 08:12

Why on earth do you think older people don't have sex? Of course they do. These women will be shagging a wrinkly old bloke who might need a blue pill to get going but it's definitely happening.

NarelleP77 · 24/02/2021 08:15

Sex with my dp - No way would I give sex up

Sex if I was single - yes. Would prefer to be financially stable if I also have to be lonely and horny

Riapia · 24/02/2021 08:45

You drive a hard bargain.😂😂😂
InkieNecro · 24/02/2021 09:37

Of course they're having sex. Why else would the men be going for such a huge age difference? They are unlikely to have much in common so it isn't that they're paying for companionship!

Also no, I wouldn't give up sex for even a billion pounds. There is nothing on earth I could buy that would make me feel as happy as sex does.

RubyandPearl · 24/02/2021 09:43

@Riapia the chips are negotiable

This is common in some countries. When I was working in Asia, I knew a 72 year old man with a 19 year old girlfriend. The aim is to move to the country of the husband. In some countries, the culture is very much aimed at marrying well, rather than marrying for love and affairs are common. All the women I knew who had much older boyfriends or husbands, had a boyfriend their own age. They did sleep with them though.
IdblowJonSnow · 24/02/2021 09:52

I have a close friend whose husband is in his late 70s, they are still very active with no need for viagra etc. She is in her early 70s.
