Content TW; sexual assault

I don’t have anyone I can talk to about this in RL who understands, but this article about the effective decriminalisation of sexual assault has had me in tears today.
www.theguardian.com/society/2021/feb/14/radical-change-needed-in-handling-of-cases-says-england-and-wales-police-lead

I’m a survivor who has been affected by this, my case was mishandled by the police and I felt completely failed and dismissed. The man who effectively destroyed my life got to walk away and pretend nothing ever happened. It feels like there’s a part of me I’ll never get back.
I am so so angry, and I am so angry on behalf of all survivors who have had comparable experiences and whose lives will probably never be the same.
I want to say to anyone reading this that’s been affected that I see you, I hear you, I believe you. It isn’t right, you didn’t deserve it, and you should have got justice.
