So after an 11 year marriage to my abusive ex husband, 3 court appearances for finances and 2 so far for child contact and another 2 years 5 months trying to divorce him yesterday I finally got my decree absolute. Goodbye 13.5 years of absolute shit....apart from my daughter being born....

Plus in the final court appearance I was awarded my house back....2 weeks before I go back (bit scared about that because of the memories and whether he will actually leave even tho court ordered to).

Plus I have an amazing new boyfriend of 5 months...

I’m fortunate enough not to have had to go through what you did (just a cheating ex) but I’m still waiting on my absolute over 5 years on. TBF that’s mainly down to neither of us getting on with it, but it’s in the system now, so I’m hoping it’ll just be a month or two now.

Congratulations! Mine took 2 years and 7 months (and my children are adults - if there had been child arrangements it would have taken longer 🙄).

I'm currently sitting in my new, mortgage-free house with my amazing man, it was worth it!
