He is quite possibly the best looking man I've ever seen

Our paths cross two days a week (but won't now for a while because of lockdown)

He always says hello and smiles when he sees me, only because he recognises me from work, I don't think there's anything in it from his POV, but I've got the hots for him big time

He's on Instagram (I'm not stalking him, it's openly advertised at work) and I've had a snoop, he appears(?) to be single but has mostly men leaving comments. I don't know if that's because 1) he's gay or 2) because men are the target demographic for his Instagram audience (bodybuilding/fitness)

Would you follow him and strike up a conversation or no? On the one hand I'm dying to know, but then if he is gay I'll probably have made a twat of myself and feel awkward next time I see him.

In my opinion, him having comments from mostly men seems very normal for any account focused on bodybuilding and such. He could be gay- but so could any man! I say just talk to him, in reality you have no substantial evidence to what his sexuality could be. You might find out more information by just casually talking to him! I see no harm done

I wouldn’t be overly concerned about his sexuality when your only evidence is men leaving comments as they are the target audience. Some of these men may be gay but that doesn’t mean he is gay. Does he flirt back with the men?

For me saying hello and smiling isn’t strong enough indication that he fancies you.
Have you tried overtly flirting? You got nothing to lose as he would either receive the message or be flattered and tell you he’s not available.

It's a great way to talk to him more, just contact him for advice on body building, comment on his photos like other followers, send a few more questions his way. Eventually you'll get to know him better and better and hopefully find out if he's single, etc.
