Hello all,

I am desperately trying to find a ferocious divorce lawyer to help me through my divorce.

Have you been through a tough divorce and have someone to recommend?

Many thanks!

Why do you need ferocious
An experienced one who will give clear and reasoned advice is what you need

Watch the movie A Marriage Story on Netflix. The reality is you'll both be left with sweet fuck all. But sure you might "win".

Cheaper to spend the money on therapy or meditation.

Whereabouts in the country are you?

Trufflesr · 29/10/2020 12:44

I’d say don’t be taken in by asking for partners to work on your case. Those more junior (not too junior) and working their way up to partner still have all the drive to get the best result and they are cheaper.

Stowe Family Law..have a google and select your area...highly recommended....it will cost you but it will be worth it if you have any asssets that need sorting.Pretty sure they are all fierce there!

This guy is such a shark that he's been struck off but can still do all your legal paperwork. If you're looking for someone to write some truly vile letters, he's your man.

Jsku · 29/10/2020 19:03

It depends on how much money is at stake and how much you are willing to spend.
Shark or not doesnt necessarily matter - there is lots that influences the outcome.
If you have a lot at stake - PM me and I can direct you to a few people in London that friends used. Also a good barrister is a must.
In my case barrister was key.

Jsku · 29/10/2020 19:05

Also - these days it’s all online anyway - so you can use one from anywhere really. But the ones in London are quite experienced with higher asset acrimonious divorces.

Suzietwo · 29/10/2020 19:12

Totally depends on you and your case. We can all do the job, key is to find someone you like and someone you think you can face spending quite a lot of time with.

I run a team of 9 family law specialists. We all have different specialities. I don’t do mediation or children work but if you need a strategist used to dealing with toxic litigation I’m your girl. My colleagues do international/children/ADR etc. Meet 2 or 3 and see what you think will work. If you’re still not sure, talk to a divorce consultant

Mischon de Reya or Vardags. Particular shark element with Vardags. First hand experience with both from previous marriage. Ex was represented by Vardags I by de Reya. Complex case with hidden assets, trusts etc. The legal bill was astonishing but worth every penny.

Suzietwo · 29/10/2020 19:16

Isn’t it amazing how you just need to think about typing ‘divorce’ and you get vardags advertising!

demolitionduo · 29/10/2020 20:06

Carla Fishlock at Goodwins in Harrow.
She represented my ex and roasted me in what should have been a relatively amicable split.

Brot64 · 29/10/2020 21:04

@Suzietwo it is and they are absolutely fantastic (though not in my favour in that occasion) I felt their wrath when I sought to divorce my ex husband. They were fierce in every way. If I were to divorce my current husband they would be my first stop. Having said that, Mischon de Reya served me very well.

Suzietwo · 29/10/2020 21:26

Vardags is a bit of a mixed bag. They’ve got a terrible reputation amongst professionals and it’s getting worse not better. That said I’m against them atm and finding this individual unusually good.
MdR are quality.

notdawn · 29/10/2020 21:29

Think somebody has been watching too much Hollywood. The law really doesn’t work like that.

tara66 · 30/10/2020 07:14

How much do Mischon de Reya, Vardags etc. charge for a divorce settlement?

Suzietwo · 30/10/2020 10:31

Depends on how you get there. 250k to a 4-5 day trial. 25k for settlement at private FDR or similar round table. Anything in between.

tara66 · 30/10/2020 11:36

Suzie - thanks - my son is looking for divorce solicitor!
