Does anyone know what this means on iPhone?

There is a guy whose phone number I don’t have, and I’m not friends with him on Facebook. He sent me a message on Facebook, and it went into my ‘message requests’ folder rather than my inbox (which I understand is normal when someone you aren’t friends with sends you a Facebook message).

When I searchEd for his name in my iPhone, I got the entry below - his name (which I’ve cropped out) then ‘instant message (Siri found in messenger) and then a series of digits below which I have blanked out and which I understand to be his Facebook ID).

However, when I search for the name of anyone else I’ve spoken to on Facebook messenger, this kind of entry does not come up. Siri only locates them if they’re in my phone book or email.

Does anyone know why this is? Is it something to do with the fact that this person was a non Facebook friend who messaged me?

You can be on FB messenger without being on Facebook- ie have no FB profile for your phone number/email.

Siri regularly finds messages to me from people I’ve not stored and want to find - like a key word in a text message.

He might have his phone number linked to his messenger

Messenger decides which info to pass to Siri to make Siri Suggestions.

Do you share your address book with Messenger? It's probably doing it because it's a new person who it knows isn't in your address book.
