What song would you recommend that sends a certain message but isn't too naff and soppy...?

newnameforthis123 · 26/10/2020 12:07

Well it depends really - what is the message are you trying to send?

mymaudlincareer · 26/10/2020 12:15

It's all a bit silly but I want to let this guy know I'm still interested...

OP posts:
EpochTime · 26/10/2020 12:20

What are your ages?

EpochTime · 26/10/2020 12:24

Also, why are you communicating via song lyrics? Confused

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 26/10/2020 12:27

Why not just send a text or email saying you're still interested?

Lyrics can easily be misinterpreted.

AutumnShrubs · 26/10/2020 12:34

Well, a married man once sent me Baby Baby by The Vibrators.

Not soppy but also probably not the message you want to send either 🙄

AutumnShrubs · 26/10/2020 12:38

And a different married man sent me Will You? by Hazel O'Connor 🙄

There have been others...

I forget what song my friend was sent by her married colleague but, all in all, I think sending songs is a bit sleazy as a result.

If you're genuinely interested, just tell him. In my experience, songs/lyrics are used by married men to "communicate what cannot be spoken" (direct quote).

mymaudlincareer · 26/10/2020 12:44

Hmmmm, bit of a reality check there. I think it's just something he likes doing, he's not married or attached..we're in our 40's. I'm tempted to send The Smiths type stuff but that would be game over...Grin

ooh I know
Sexual healing by Marvin Gaye
That will go down a storm

LannieDuck · 26/10/2020 12:46

Fairytale of New York Grin

takeanotherchillpill · 26/10/2020 12:48

Another Marvin Gaye.... Lets Get it On !

AutumnShrubs · 26/10/2020 12:48

Seriously though, you're unlikely to find a single song that reflects exactly what you feel/want to say. You might find a 'best fit' song and know which bits to overlook in the listening but those might equally be the parts he focuses on.

If someone I actually liked, and was interested in, tried to communicate with me via song lyrics, I'd be a bit put off. If not sleazy, it's a bit cheesy and clichéd and should only be done tongue in cheek.

Just tell him.

unmarkedbythat · 26/10/2020 12:51

Rev 22-20 by Puscifer ?

SoulofanAggron · 26/10/2020 12:54

@EpochTime Grin Grin Grin Or 'let's get it on.'

@mymaudlincareer But I think we can't really help you as it has to be both something you personally like and something that conveys exactly/approximately what you want to say. What sort of music do you like?

Rockinmomma · 26/10/2020 12:55

Still interested in.......? Need more context
Me and DP send each other songs, yes it’s cheesy but after 10 years of no cheese I’ve gone full Stilton Grin and love it

AutumnShrubs · 26/10/2020 12:55

The wap song... 🤷🏻‍♀️

AutumnShrubs · 26/10/2020 12:56

Rockinmomma

I think that in an established relationship it's fine and totally different as, by then, it's become part of the language of your relationship.

But as a seduction tool? Ugh, no!

EpochTime · 26/10/2020 13:07

We do really need context.
Why is it that you need to tell him you are 'still interested'?
Is that because you split up? Have you had a period apart from one another due to lockdown and he's gone quiet? Did he know you were interested before?

JaneJeffer · 26/10/2020 13:09
Can't be clearer than this.
Angrymum22 · 26/10/2020 13:15

Just don’t send ‘Red light spells danger’ Billy Ocean. He’ll run for the hills.
Adele’s lyrics can be pretty good and I love Paloma Faith love song. Strong woman type lyrics.

Otterhound · 26/10/2020 13:16

That ole devil called love
Billy Holliday version or Alison Moyet if he might prefer that style

XEbonyrose1X · 26/10/2020 13:41

Rita ora I wish I could let you love me now

I have no idea what you intend to do lol. Perhaps just use words.

IrkedEssex · 26/10/2020 13:43

thecatsarecrazy · 26/10/2020 13:45

10questions · 26/10/2020 13:46
