Based on my own incredibly unscientific experiences I have come up with the rule of 5 of online dating.
For every 5 people you swipe right on on an app, you will match with one. For every 5 matches one will message the other and a conversation will start. For every 5 people you have a conversation with on the app, you will want to go on a first date with one. For every 5 first dates you go one, one will turn into casual/early dating. For every 5 people you casually date, you will end up in a relationship with one.
So by my calculations you have to swipe right 3125 times to meet your partner.
Now...bear in mind that people typically have 3 LT relationships before getting married and that roughly 1 in 2 marriages end in divorce...that's 18750 swipes to not die alone.
