Has anyone done this before? Is there much point when it’s a relationship you want an not a pen pal/one night stand?

I went to a pof speed dating event in Northampton about 5yrs ago. It was something fun to do with a friend who was also single.
I'm not sure how it would work with the social distancing though as it was quite busy.

Would I do it again? No! There were 70yr olds and 20 year olds sitting infront of me for the few minutes and my friend and I honestly got the giggles. Also alot of single men who were there desperate to meet a woman who I wouldn't even chat to online as just not for me.
Do go if you want the experience but take it half heartedly.

I haven't been to one but I would definitely go with someone else one you already know who is single if you can.

I think OP means there's an online speed dating event tonight

It was an online event but I decided to give it a pass. It just seems pretty pointless online dating at the moment.
