Relationship fizzling out after 4 years

We don't live together, no children, but we're seeing less of each other now, sometimes not every weekend. I'm starting to feel we're going backwards, not spending enough quality time together to maintain and deepen our relationship.

I'm starting to think maybe the relationship has run its course. After 4 years together, is it reasonable to think some relationships just don't last?

I guess it depends why you aren't seeing each other regularly? Work commitments or just generally not making an effort? Was the relationship not serious enough to take it one step further and live together?

I feel your pain. I am sat in tears realising mine can't work and I'm heartbroken.
Whats the reason you can't progress a but more?
Ours is a problem with being able to live together and it breaks my heart that I've found someone so amazing but it feels impossible. We like you see each other weekends and other than that I feel like it will never change.

We don't see each other regularly because he moved to a different village 2 years into our relationship. It's about an hour's drive away. Before that we'd have seen each other some nights during the week. He spends a lot of time with other people also, it seems to me they're his priority.

@Petals23 can you ask to see him more frequently? Or do you not want to?
