You found out he had taken another women’s number and called / contacted her the days after? I found out and his excuse was she put the number in his phone and he was calling her to let her know he wasn’t interested 🙄 I know, I know!

This was last year but I just feel I can’t trust him again after this.

In all honesty, I think it depends on the circumstances, whether or not you genuinely believe it went no further, whether or not you generally feel you can trust him and the quality of your relationship generally.

For example, how long had you been together at the time? If it was in the early stages of your relationship then I think it would potentially be okay (assuming you believe that it went no further).

I would think a man who genuinely wasn't interested would just delete the number without any further thought. He definitely wouldn't call her the next day to tell her he wasn't interested.

Trust your instincts. My ex was gaslighting me for two years after I found texts on his phone. My trust issues got worse and worse, and he taunted me with it. Then I caught him doing it again.

If the trust is gone, its gone. And I wouldn't have believed that he was contacting her to say he wasn't interested. He wouldn't have handed over his phone to start with if he wasn't. :(

How did you find out? Did he confess our of the blue, or was he caught?

if that was all there was...a new number and a single call then I might think twice about any overreactions but if my spidey senses had been kicking off or he has form then there would be a heavy and unhappy (for him) conversation

We had been together for a year at the time and had just moved in together.
I was more insulted that he thought I would believe his pathetic excuses but after his begging and crying I ended up forgiving him. I guess I’ll never know how far it would have actually gone as I found out so that’s what bothers me the most.

I’ve tried to move passed it but I don’t think I’ll ever trust him in the same way.
