Ghosted - feeling pretty sad

Just wondering if anyone wants to share their experience of being ghosted with me?

Background - started seeing a guy in Jan 2020, pretty soon he said he didn’t want to see other people, I thought was a little soon but likes him so wasn’t a problem really. Was a little on off because of Covid/our separate commitments but all going okay from early June onwards. Talking about going away in Sept Etc

Arranged a day/night date for weekend three weeks ago, saw him on the Friday unplanned, confirmed arrangements for the sat.

He text me sat saying could we meet an hour later than planned, I said fine and that’s it - haven’t heard from him since and have been blocked (I sent one message asking him to let me know he hadn’t been in a terrible accident - he read it on the sunday and then blocked me).

I honestly cannot work it out and it’s made me feel really sad. I thought we had the start of something.

Anyone had anything similar? Has anyone ever found out why they were ghosted?

By the way this is a 52 year old father of two 20 somethings.

Thanks in advance

So sorry OP Flowers He's certainly not worth you at all, and unfortunately a lot of men use OLD for casual sex rather than looking for serious relationships (they dont tell the woman that directly as they know they'll be discarded).

This ghosting behaviour is an offshoot of porn - men are just accustomed to seeing women as disposable sex objects.

I would much rather be dumped than ghosted. I wish people would realise that while the truth is hard to take, you can quickly recover and move on but just blocking someone with no explanation can really mess with heads. Very cruel way to treat a human being. I would never do this to someone. I feel sad for you OP but now you are free to meet someone decent.

I'd rather be dumped with a thanks but no thanks than be ghosted.

I've spent the past week wondering if the guy I was due to have a second date with will text today but he never does.

It's a horrible way to be given a shit message after just a few weeks, phonecalls and one meet up. I can't imagine the pain of being left like this after many months of being together.

I'm really sorry this has happened to you OP.

It's made me go a little bit bonkers. Rereading messages for clues, stalking his FB page and yet he wasn't really my type.

I hate it and cannot wait for my brain to get over the trauma.

Hope you give yourself some tender loving care.
I like the phrase 'dodged a bullet there' as we probably did.

Haven't read the full threat but wanted to say how absolutely awful for you OP. That's disgusting behaviour especially from somebody his age he should know better. Easier said than done but don't give him another thought he clearly isn't worth it and you e had a luck escape. Sending hugs xx
