Please tell me about your 50/50 custody agreements

My husband and I are separating amicably and he's moving out soon. We want to try to make 50/50 custody of our DD(7) work but could do with a little advice/examples of how others do it.

At the moment, we alternate the days we do bedtime and I was thinking along the lines of continuing that: I have her Monday and Wednesday, he has her Tuesday and Thursday then we alternate Friday - Sunday. The pros to this is that it follows the system she's already used to and she doesn't have to be away from either of us for longer than 4 days, but I'm worried that it will be too much to-ing and fro-ing for her.

If you have any experience of successful 50/50 custody arrangements please could you give us some advice, this is going to be very hard for her and we want to make sure we have a good, consistent arrangement to try and ease some of the difficulty.

Hi we do something similar but I have mine Monday from after school to Wednesday before school, my ex then has Wednesday after school to Friday Before school and then we alternate Friday after school through to Monday before school. You do need to make sure you swap PE kit etc and it isn’t ideal with books once they get older as a lot of them come home with them from school and have to go back-this happened at senior. Two now off to college so see how that works!
