Is anyone else unable to leave a relationship for financial reasons

If I could afford to I’d leave, but unless I win some money it’s not going to happen for a few years (I may have been able to save enough by then). How do you get through this? I daydream a lot and focus on other things. But if I could afford to I’d be out like a shot. I’m not in a dangerous situation or anything, there’s just no love there. Anyone else?

Yep! I'm saving and trying repair my credit file. I've been financially controlled for years and been a stay at home mum for the past 9 years.. drip fed money only when I ask for it. If I won the lottery today I'd be gone tomorrow. That's sadly just a dream and all I can hope is I save quietly and repair my credit file slowly and move on with my life at some point soon. Totally get you.. sucks doesn't it!

@lockdownlush yes it sucks... hate wishing time away so trying to focus on the good things in my life. Freedom one day!

I'm waiting for the day I can leave my alcoholic H.

I stay for now as it's not abusive. Just sad to see someone I used to love do this to themselves.

I have an adult DC with SN which makes it difficult too. Hard to disrupt their home and life.

If I was truly financially independent and secure I'd absolutely leave

It’s so difficult isn’t it. Here’s hoping for a lottery win!
