Hi, im a single parent, his father hasnt seen my son for 2 years, and all in all in 2 years sent me 60 pounds.
I work full time and working tax credit is what buys us food. after my rent, daycare, bills and petrol, its the working tax credit i have left to feed us so that working tax credit is so helpful
So needles to say ive been so excited for this 30 free hours so i can relax a little bit but then when I was half way through the form and it asked if i get child tax credit or working tax credit, i get working tax credit, so ticked yes and it said that i either get tax credit or free childcare... is this correct?
Im literally in the same boat if thats true. Zero help :( the forms really arent geard towards single mums that have no other form of help and no maternity allowance.
Did the calculator and theres 50+ pound diffrence if i go for 30 free hours over tax credit.
Please god im wrong and ive misunderstood.
Ive also applied for a masters degree... which worries me even more now, i literally applied now because of that 30 free hours still thinking id get tax credit.
