i once went with a bloke for 18mths and we did everything else but the main deed not sure why that was, but i was only 14
on the other hand, i met a bloke in a bar once and within 30mins we were at it round the back of the bar. classy

harpsichordcarrier · 22/09/2007 08:45

god i don't know, not long

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 22/09/2007 08:47

4 months, dh, but then there's only ever been him. Today I'm not sure which spin to put on it- hopelessly romantic or no other bugger would come close enough?

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 22/09/2007 08:49

5months from first starting dating properly, but could day it was a year really as we kept pissing about way way before that. he is now my dh lol.

PippiLangstrump · 22/09/2007 08:59

second date with DH. It was obvious he was the one from the first date.

nappyaddict · 22/09/2007 13:10

about 6 weeks. i was 13 and it was my first boyfriend.

jellybelly25 · 23/09/2007 17:09

about 1 month. with dp.
this makes me feel better... for more reassurance i might start a thread about how chequered peoples pasts have really been!

NorthernRockCod · 23/09/2007 17:11

its a bti vicotrian the waiting thing isnt it really

i mean unless oyu sleep with 20 men a week its ireelvant surely?

i bet men never see it as a GOOD hting to wait

geekgirl · 23/09/2007 17:13

2 or 3 months with my first proper boyfriend

jellybelly25 · 24/09/2007 11:00

cod i agree, but i think we are all given the impression that men think you are a bit of a slapper if you sleep with them quickly and then don't view you as a real perrson, or something like that.

i think its crap tbh, ime there is something to be said foro not jumping into bed too soon but more from self-protection pov - in terms of what a guy thinks, surely if he likes you then he likes you regardless, and if he doesnt then he doesnt regardless, only difference is they are more likely to sleep with you when they dont really like you than NOT sleep with you of they do, iyswim.

am i hijacking? i hope not

expatinscotland · 24/09/2007 11:03

A few hours.

PandaG · 24/09/2007 11:03

same as Harrisey, waited until we were married, together over 4.5 years until we married

LazyLinePainterJane · 24/09/2007 11:05

Well my major relationship before DH, it never happened as he didn't believe in sex before marriage and it took me well over a year to realise that he was never going to marry me

DH....about 2 days It just seemed right, I was a bit of a waiter normally.

Desiderata · 24/09/2007 11:11

Ha ha ha! I just knew that if I clicked on this thread, Expat would say ... a few hours

Same for me, I'm afraid. I don't think I ever waited for a second date. I'm not a wining/dining kind of gal ... I like to cut to the chase!

Jackstini · 24/09/2007 11:19

10 weeks in first ever sexual relationship - I was 17
About 3 hours with DH {grin}

Janbo25 · 18/10/2007 18:44

2 days thought best not to wait to long because didn't want to be dissapointed and hung around for nothing lol!!

pigletmaker · 18/10/2007 18:51

First bf ever, think it was about 4 wks - and with Dh it was about 3 days because he made me wait.

Anna8888 · 18/10/2007 18:55

6 weeks. With my current partner.

Slubberdegullion · 18/10/2007 18:56

During my fanatical evangelical Christian phase I went out with and subsequently got engaged to a bloke, we were going out for at least a year. No nookie, not even a boob fondle. I prayed a lot.

Then I realised he was a fraek. And fundamentalist Christianity wasn't really for me.

So I ran off to Australia and shagged a US Marine.

From one extreme to the other.

pointydog · 18/10/2007 19:03

oo, I find in rl that I do like people who have been fanatical evangelical Christians at some point and then got over it.

pointydog · 18/10/2007 19:04

I know someone who, aged 17, would pray in her attic and cry for the little baby Jesus

bogie · 18/10/2007 19:07

when i was 16 i started seeing this guy who was 23 and i put a bet on with my friend that i could make him wait 6 months before i slept with him and he would still be interested
and i did i won £50 of my friend!

Slubberdegullion · 18/10/2007 19:08

Don't mock pointy. A memory that makes me sit bolt upright in bed and shout

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

was a dinner party where after food we sat round in the sitting room and ex fiance got out his guitar and we had an impromtu sing along to Christian rock session. I went into the kitchen and made some improptu maracas with cofee jars and split peas.
